always wanted a RC Forklift..... but the ready ones are way over my tiny budget...
then... came across the Bruder forklift!
it's 1:16 scale and very detailed....
thanks to bro babyboy for sharing the site.... ordered and delivered within 24hrs...
here are some photos of the little toy...

scale wise, it's slightly smaller than the semi-trucks, but close enough i hope....
now... will try to convert it to RC.... wish me luck....
step 1.... tear it apart and explore.....

got this universal gearbox from Tamiya....

and built it up....

spent lots of time trying to remove the wheel from the shaft....
this little toy's quality is real good.... had a really hard time using different tools.... brute force.... etc... and the wheel still doesn't come apart from the shaft....
Enlarge this image
finally.... managed to remove the wheel....
the end of the shaft has this "one way" grooves.... so once it is assembled into the wheel, it's really not easy to remove...
Enlarge this image
fixed up the tranny onto the wheel shaft...
Enlarge this image
and test fitted onto the forklift chassis....
Enlarge this image
fits nicely..... so even if the forklift doesn't "lift"... i still get the consolation prize of a RC forklift without lift!
next.... trying to use a micro servo to control lifting mechanism....
Enlarge this image
disassembled it...
Enlarge this image
will be converting it to work as a micro servo winch for the lifting...
Enlarge this image
seems like the output gear is connected directly to the potentiometer's shaft....
Enlarge this image
so.... i got 2 options....
option 1: use 2 resistors to fix the centre point....
option 2: turn the pot to the middle position and glue it up!
still not sure if the micro servo is strong enough...... so i chose the easy way out..... glue up the pot in the middle position!

that's all for now....
thanks for looking!
